U.S. Army troops female officers Deng Woody 14, was awarded the rank of four-star general, the United States to become the first female four-star general.
At the Pentagon ceremony held in Shouxian, the army chief of staff Casey woody and Deng's husband, retired Air Force officer for the Buluo Qi Tang put Woody badges. In the audience, many female members of the army issued a voice of applause.
Woody at the ceremony, Tang said that since 33 years ago to join the army, she did not think his one day become a four-star general. She also said that his own men in military rule made history, and this is the U.S. Army's honor.
Casey said that the speech, Deng Woody became the first female four-star general of the army as a whole is worthy of celebration and pride.
Deng Woody from the military family. Her father, grandfather and great-grandfather all graduated from the Military Academy at West Point. In 1975, Deng joined the army after graduating from the University of Woody, and as of the 82nd Airborne Division troops parachute officers took part in the first Gulf War. Later, she entered the back-up force. To become a four-star general, she is the only two army generals one of the three women.
According to Defense Department statistics, 543,000 active duty U.S. armed forces, of whom about 14% of women.
